PSALMS 18:2
“The Lord is my rock, and my
fortress, and my deliverer; my God , my strength, in whom I will trust; my
buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my
high tower.
As I was studying this
scripture earlier this morning, the Holy spirit made me think on how God is the
‘horn of our salvation’.
Looking at the dictionary definition of ‘horn’. Merriam – Webster Dictionary defines ‘horn’ as “one of the hard pointed parts that
grows on the head of some animals, usually a bony processes that arise from the
head of many ungulates and that are found in some extinct mammals and reptiles
as one of the permanent paired hollow sheaths of keratin usually present in
both sexes of the cattle and their relative that function chiefly for defence” .
Our emphasis lies on the ‘defence’.
If the horns in animals is used for defence, therefore God is telling us that
He is the defence of our salvation against the wiles and fiery darts of the
enemy. We have been salvaged from the enemy and God is telling us that He is
our defence for any major or minor comeback of the enemy. As far as God is our
defence, affliction shall not arise a second time. What a God we have!
The Free Bible Dictionary
tells us that “ ‘Horns’ are emblems of power, dominion, glory, and fierceness,
as they are the chief means of attack and defence with the animals endowed with
them.”
Note: ‘Attack and Defence’. So, God who is the ‘horn of our salvation’
can also attack anything and anyone that tampers with our salvation.
It goes further to tell us
that the expression ‘horn of salvation’ , applied to Christ, means “a salvation
of strength, or a strong saviour”(Luke 1:69). Christ came to salvage us from
the devil. He is that strength of our salvation ; a strong saviour. Hallelujah!
In essence, let us as
Born-Again Children of God pray everyday for God to make our salvation be strong; full of
counter - attack and defence to escape all satanic traps and pitfall. For the
devil is not happy that you have been salvaged from him (Jude 1:3).
May GOD give us the strength
to work out our salvation with strength and with fear and trembling (Philippians
2:12).
Therefore, one QUESTION I will like to ask you is, ARE YOU SAVED? (Romans 3:23, 6:23, 10:9; Luke 13:3; Acts 3:19; 1 John 1:9; Isaiah 55:7; John 3:16.) If not pray this prayer with me:
MY FATHER, I COME TO YOU TODAY. I AM SORRY FOR ALL MY WRONG DOINGS. I BELIEVE IN MY HEART THAT JESUS CHRIST IS THE SON OF GOD. I BELIEVE IN MY HEART THAT HE DIED FOR MY SINS, I BELIEVE THAT YOU RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD FOR MY JUSTIFICATION AND GLORIFICATION. LORD JESUS, COME INTO MY HEART RIGHT NOW. I RECEIVE YOU TODAY AS MY PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOUR. THANK YOU LORD. AMEN!
If you sincerely prayed this prayer, then you are now Born-Again. Congratulations!(Please look for any Bible-Believing church where God's word is being preached or Email: decrystalife@gmail.com).
Be Blessed!
